Alice Paul was one of the oldest daughter out of 3 other siblings, she was born January 11, 1885 in the Quakers family then died July 9th in 1977. The Quakers family raised Alice with a belief in gender equality. William Mickle Paul and Tracie Parry was her parents, her father William was a successful businessman and a president of the Burlington County Trust Company, not only was her father successful her mother was also she was a member of the American Women Suffrage Association something Alice joined later on. Alice when she was younger attended meetings with her mother about suffragist, since she was a young girl she always knew she wanted to work for the betterment society. Paul was then highly educated, earning degrees at Swarthmore a Quakers college for biology , then later attended University of Pennsylvania and got a PH.D. in sociology, and learned LL.B. from Washington College of law. After she earned her degree in law and social work, she joined the British women suffrage movement . That's when she protested for women rights during the year of 1910.
